Dr. Lennise JC Baptiste, has more than 35 years combined professional experience in the fields of education and programme evaluation, and she works as an Independent Evaluation Consultant throughout the English-speaking Caribbean.
She is the 2016 Recipient of the International Alumni Hall of Fame Award of the College of Education Health and Human Services from her alma mater Kent State University Ohio, and the 2010 recipient of the Michael Scriven Dissertation Award for Outstanding Contribution to Evaluation Theory, Methodology, or Practice, awarded by Western Michigan University. She was also the first recipient of the Don Brenner Outstanding Paper Award 2010 from the International Society for the Study of Subjectivity for her use of Q methodology.
Since leaving Kent State University in 2011, she has evaluated projects sponsored by donors such as the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, the European Union, UNICEF, the Caribbean Development Bank, the Governments of Trinidad and Tobago, Belize, Spain and Anguilla. She has trained persons in the public sector, staffs of civil society and non-governmental organisations to utilize monitoring and evaluation tools not just to improve the reporting to donors but also to monitor the progress of national development goals. She is a founding member and a past Chair of the Caribbean Evaluators International which advocates for and promotes the use of evaluation, and regional evaluators across professional sectors. She was Chair of the Mixed-Methods Topical Interest Group of the American Evaluation Association 2008 - 2018. She is in her second term as Secretary General of the International Development Evaluation Association.
